Count your blessings

Yesterday afternnon I arrived home from work with a banging headache and the starting of an ear infection. All in all I was feeling a bit sorry for myself. Just about the time I was taking J to cricket a friend called to say that her 32 year old Sister had passed away following surgery. She (the Sister) had 2 young children.

When I got back from cricket, I put the telly on and saw the shootings in Virginia, America. Spend the evening watching the news, and was shocked as the death toll rose

All this makes a headache and earache seem like nothing

Passport Arrived

My passport expired in Ocotber lasr, and as we hadn't planned on going anywhere and starting a new job renewing got put on the back burner. Then we booked to go to South Africa in August and I book to go to Scrap-a-ganaza in June. So all of a sudden I need my passport, so did J because he was still on mine. We applied (took everything to PO for them to check) about 3 weeks ago, cost £125.00 for2 passports. About a week later I got a letter to say my photos where to light, so I went in and had more taken - sent them off. Last Saturday J passport arrive - so at least one of us could travel. And yesterday mine arrived, so we are good to go!!!!! Off to the Warrington Crop today, hopefully get some more pages done for my Moms Album. J wants to go out for breakfast first, crop starts at 9.30 - so all up a bit earlier than usual this morning

Quite day at home

Had a lovely quite day at home. Got up at about 8.30 this morning, made a full english breakfast for us. Then sat and watch telly for a while, later we took the boxes from the braai to the dump. Pop in to Tesco to get a few bit, and went to Costco to get Nicks cake. Back home we had a afternoon snooze, then I made roast chicken and veg for tea. Back to work tommorrow, and Dave off to Munich for work.

Happy Easter

Today we have been to Sandys for a braai. On Tuesday it is Nicolas 16 th birthday, so we all went round to celebrate. Dan was over from Ierland. I ordered a cake from Costco, but when I got there to collect it - Costco was closed. So we had to restort to plan B. I came home a baked a chocolate cake. Nick still wants me to go and get the cake tommorrow, so he can have his friends over on Tuesday. On Tuesday evening, Sandy, Jayde, Jason, Nick and I are going to Frankie and Bennys for supper.

The Saga of the braai

We decided that as Summer was on the way we needed a new braai (BBQ), the old one had rusted through. We want a sturdy charocoal braai - not a gas one. We hunted high and low, every where went the braais, where all either flimsy or GAS!!!! We ended up going to a Garden Centre half way to Birmingham, where we found an Outback charocoal braai. (Yipee). Tommorrow Dave and Jason will have to spend the morning putting it together.

After we had got the braai, we went to Rushomle for a curry. All-in-all we had a lovely family day out.

On a more promising note, Jasons passport arrived today (his first because up to now, he has been on mine). So we are just waiting for mine, then we will be all set for South Africa in August
